Likely one of the most well known Japanese games based on robotics where they have become so advanced that there are now humanoid robots in common usage in the world.
The main enemy is Dr. Wily who was the partner of Dr. Light and together they created the humanoid robots but Dr. Wily feeling that he had been cheated out of his awards turned all the robots they had made except mega man to assist in taking over the world.
During this time Dr. Light turned Mega Man into his fighting form to stop Dr. Wily from succeeding.
